BestBuy creating false hype

It was pretty funny when I was in bestbuy earlier looking at the new ipad. The guy told me that I needed to decide very quick if I wanted one because they were selling out fast. I would have believed him if we were not the only 2 people standing in the tablet section. I also asked him how many they had and he said that they are not allowed to tell how many they had but they currently had all models and colors in stock. I hate when they create false hype.
 
More customers will be coming in later today and the weekend, so its hard to tell if BB will have them next week or not. Having Apple have this Pre-order this time around will reduce the walk in's I bet.
 
So in other words it was a Best Buy employee, not the company?

It's quite reasonable to think a Best Buy store will sell out of the first batch before the weekend is out. Perhaps thats what he meant?

I have seen a lot of people talking about pre-ordering "this time"; I pre-ordered my iPad 1 and other Apple devices, why are we acting like this is the first time?

Apple did not offer a preorder for the iPad 2.
