so can anyone confirm what changed (if anything) in BETA2?
EDIT: noticed there is a store settings pane now!? clicked and nothing cool happened! :( just a blank page? anyone find anything else?

1. in landscape mode in Safari and you bring up bookmarks, it will take up the entire page vs. beta 1 where it will only take up 3/4 of the page.

2. landscape mode is fully functional vs. beta 1 where it would only work once in a while.

so far, really liking the beta 2

Thanks! Im liking BETA2 as well. Except for the mms! oh well! hopefully it will get straightened out in a couple of days thanks to someone who figures out how to get it to work!

- Voice Memos.app is on the first page by default
- Upon reboot, there is a progress bar under the Apple logo

Audiobooks are no longer are recognized by the iPod at all. iTunes shows the files having been synced to the device, but the iPod shows "No Audiobooks"

Craptacular!

I don't see a progress bar ...

I think the poster was talking about when the phone was upgrading. The dialogue pop up in iTunes said the phone would restart and it did and a progress bar should up (which hasn't happened before.) This whole install was kinda weird though, a lot of weird things, especially purple recovery mode.

CalDav for google works without having to manipulate the URL by hand.

It still only pulls your main calendar though.

i'm not sure if this was in the first beta. But it seems that YouTube has been upgraded. You can now view comments and go to your account and view your own videos, subscriptions, favorites, etc.

I was about to say that it has showed up before but then I remembered, it was only when you do a full wipe and restore that it previously did it :)

I think one of the better fixes to this beta 2 are when you zoom into a picture you can now pan/scroll it - which was a problem for beta 1.

You're right; that's one of the first things I checked! All in all, b2 is much quicker than the first beta. I can actually see myself sticking with this one for more than a day or two. :)

- Searching in Mail in landscape lays out differently now.
- Spotlight now displays a "No Results" message if it doesn't find anything.
- Safari text fields now show you where your cursor is and you can also copy and paste within them.
- Icons dim instantly when you tap them now.
- Safari: Landscape bookmarks now appear correctly.
- Safari: Hasn't gotten stuck on portrait for me yet.

The icons have changed once again:
wow1

I was just comparing the 2 screenshots and the iPod icon is sitting too high. The icon is 1 pixel higher than the rest of the icons. Look at it, you can see how it's misaligned with the rest.

Also, the stripes are smaller now and they're using the same slight shadow effect under the glyph. I hope they fix the alignment of the iPod icon... it's bugging me now.

Is there a reason the Voice Memo application makes a camera shutter sound when you start recording?

I assume that will be changed to a beep or something.

11 Pages of home screens!

Oh yes, 11 pages instead of 9 - trust me there are

My YouTube is totally busted. Just keeps saying "Cannot connect to YouTube."

And I've also noticed that they've changed the preview images in the App Store again. Now they're arranged similarly to the home screens. Just swipe your finger to switch between the pictures.

you can now preview your picture when adding from your photos for MMS.
Before you just touched a photo and then it was added.
Unless you take a photo. Then you could preview it.

Guys,

Is there anything regarding the bluetooth AVRCP profile??
I think there is no meaning for A2DP without this profile!

cool. but does it run quickly enough to upgrade yet? or does it still lag too much to be day-to-day usable?

Anyone else having the audiobooks issue? I was just about to take the plunge and install the beta, but I listen to audiobooks and all of my drives and can't be without this function.

It's been like that since the first beta.
