Has anyone using the new 3.0 BETA OS noticed if email addresses, phone numbers and web links are contextual in the notes section of a Contact record and/or in an Appointment?
For instance, in an email or text message you can click on any of these things and the iPhone will open the appropriate program (phone, mail, Safari). However, with OS 2.X if you have a phone number, email address or web link in the Contact's note section or in an Appointment, the iPhone OS doesn't recognize it as such. You can't click on that info to do anything.
As an example, if I have an appointment with a dial-in # for a conference call in the subject field...I should be able to click on the phone number and have it begin dialing. My Blackberry does it, but my iPhone doesn't. This seems pretty basic, especially since the iPhone already recognizes these types of data in email and text messages.
I made this suggestion to Apple in their user feedback web portal and was wondering if it was incorporated in the latest OS upgrade.
Thanks.
