Hi all,

I finally took the leap and installed Catalina ... all seems to be working well except sidecar only seems to work once then requires a Mac reboot to work again. The second time I try to launch Sidecar it does connect but just shows a black screen on the iPad, a reboot of my MAC fixes it.

Anyone else experienced this ? Any other idea on how to rectify without a reboot ?

Thanks in advance.

Think I may have stumbled across a workaround

This only happens when I have my external monitor attached (i.e. 3 displays incl. the Sidecar)... so I got to thinking this is related to multiple monitors....

When I go to activate the sidecar for the 2nd time and the iPad activates but only with a black screen, I can recover it by performing the following:

On the MAC: click on the airplay icon in the menu bar, select the iPad display (sidecar) and force it to mirror the MAC retina display..... This forces the iPad to work again (in mirror mode), I then toggle it back to 'use as a separate display ' and it works again !!

I will raise a feedback ticket to Apple to highlight the issue...

Thanks,

Adam
