Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed. I've owned multiple Intel based Macs over the years, largely because I couldn't make up my mind whether I wanted a desktop or laptop (and could only afford one at a time). I have a current generation MacBook, which up until recently, I thought it sounded pretty awesome connected to some Logitech Z4i speakers.

I was given my G3 tower last year for free from a girl I work with who upgraded, and I thought that I was deceiving myself that it sounded somewhat crisper/cleaner than the MacBook. However, last week I picked up a G4 iMac (I'm starting a homeless shelter for abandoned Macs? I'm not sure) and I can clearly hear a distinct difference. Highs are cleaner, crisper, and lows are deeper and more defined. All iTunes EQ settings are flat on both systems, and the speakers are the same.

Audio in the G4: Texas Instruments TAS3001C
Audio in the MacBook: Intel High-Definition Audio

Just wondering if anyone else had noticed this? Or perhaps I'm just crazy and love the G4 too much.
