Better battery life and lower temps since 10.4.9?

This morning when I was doing some last minute study before my exam, I noticed that my temperature for my MBP was down to 44C, and the battery life was easily over 3 hours (no wireless, bluetooth on polling every 10 seconds with Home Zone). The CPU frequency was at 1.5ghz the whole time, too.

I had CoolBook installed before but 10.4.9 probably uninstalled it as I had set mine to only stay at 1.0ghz when on battery.

Anyone else noticed this?
