Better/Cheaper Password protected folders than MacKeeper?

I Don't really want to spend 40$ for one feature I need and remove it after few months (when the Lion will come out with external drive encryption).

Do you know better/cheaper alternative for this purpose ? I tried to use Disk Utility with encryption but it take forever to create one (250gb "empty" image, 20min left and I think its not even on 10%).

Encrypted disk images are the way to go. If it takes a while set one up just before you go to bed.

Try SecureFiles. A lot quicker than Disc Utility. Download from here. And it's free!

great software! it make me learn about sparseimages and sparsebundle so i made a new image with disk utility but this time as sparsebundle and not .img file so its faster and take less space on the harddrive.
