I need to find a better download management application than Speed Download.

Whenever I run speed, and download more than one file at a time, my memory usage skyrockets and maxes out. System runs VERY sluggish, and i basically can't use my MBP until downloads are done.

Anyone experience this, and have any suggestions or recommendations?

Speed Download has worked fine for me across over 15 different macs. I doubt your problem is with Speed Download.

I've also found Speed Download to be fine, in fact brilliant. It was by far the best application I could find. I've got a 4 year old powerbook, running Tiger and have had 10 downloads running in tandem, with up to 10 connections, no problems, and it is excellent at picking up from where it left off, if you get disconnected etc.
I'd also think that the problem might be in your set up, but not techy enough to know how you'd check it all out.
