I am on the fence about upgrading to the 12. I have a XR now and it is working great but I do run into some coverage dead spots here and there. I am on T-mobile. I am wondering if anyone that has gotten the 12 (regardless of carrier) has seen better LTE coverage? Wondering if the switch from Intel to Qualcomm has made a difference? Not considering changing providers just wondering if coverage is better.

Is it like, wow coverage is amazing now. No. But it seems to have better WiFi and LTE at home for me. This is coming from a X.

*forgot to add - I’m with T-Mobile

I haven’t seen any reports of better reception yet. Rather lots of people with tower switching issues on Verizon.

I’m also hoping the Qualcomm model will be better. But since Apple made their own antenna and are in love with metal and glass construction I’m not holding my breath.

I do know that the 11 (non Pro) that my son has definitely has better reception (2x2 like XR) than my XSM and my wife’s 11 Pro.

Much better reception and speeds on the Iphone 12 pro . It's amazing compared to my Iphone X with a qualcomm modem. Do not have a 5G plan on ATT but seeing speeds around 270 megs on some towers . On those same towers I have never seen over 120 megs before on my X.

Also came from an iPhone X with Qualcomm modem on AT&T and the difference is night and day. So many spots that I'd have a few bars of LTE but couldn't actually get data work fine now. Speeds are improved as well.

That tower switching issue is a PIA. I tried telling Verizon support. That didn’t help. They had no idea what I was talking about.
