Does the computer startup and app launch boot times increase with a better processor? I'm considering going from the m3 to m5 or m7 but my needs are quite basic (web browsing, email, general office, and light photo and video work with iMovie.

I figure boot/launch times are what I would notice the most for my tasks. My 2012 Macbook Pro Retina 15" is quite snappy with everything I do and I"m curious if I would notice a difference between the two in that regard. Thanks for everyone's help.

No, faster processor with slightly faster boot times, as the boot time highly relative to SSD speed.
Modern Macbook all with very fast SSD so basically boot time only need below 20s, and faster processor will reduce boot time just around 2 seconds.
