Better photo editing?

Is apple planning on releasing any additional editing features to photos?

I like the simplicity of photos on iOS and mac. Just a shame you can't do more specific adjustments, selective adjustments, healing or filters.

Pixelmator, snapseed and vsco brilliant but it's a bit long winded openening up each so.

The best iOS editors are in fact Lightroom,snapseed or pixelmator. There are of course others,but most of them are either too complicated or not very capable. For simple photo edit,I use snapseed,for more difficult tasks I prefer pixelmator.
