Better quality music and battery life

Does the quality of what you rip at effect the battery life?

I know this was the case on my old iPod but havnt used a flash based player till my iPhone.

Is the difference worth worrying about?

the quality does not affect the battery but having the equalizer on does but is insignificant,dont worry and enjoy the music the way you want it.

I thought maybe because a better quality file would be bigger it would take more power to use it?
