1440x900 just ain't cuttin the cheese Apple! I'd really like to see higher resolution for the 15'' MBP, um, you know, like some of the PCs available?

Yeah, and put some glasses in the box for those who expect to actually read anything on a high res 15" screen... :p

Wasn't Leopard supposed to be giving us resolution independance, so you could run at a higher resolution but still with the same screen real estate? (just with a higher pixel resolution). What happened to that?

There's always getting an external monitor, I guess, or stepping up to the 17, so you do have options if you want "more screen"...

Of course, you could mod your MBP like I did, and view the beauty of 1920x1200 easy-to-read text. I don't wear glasses and because of the fine size of these pixels, it's a breeze to read! I even use small fonts in apps like Safari...

Check out the thread on modding to a hi-res screen and don't wait for Apple.

Last i heard you cant do it yet with the new LED Penryns. Also people like me (not very tech savvy) wouldnt feel comfortable tearing our laptops apart lol, but id definetly pay someone to do it for me if they live in the dallas tx area.

I can't imagine anything higher than 1440x900 on a 15" screen, but that is personal preference. I have been stuck with a 14.1" with that resolution, and even if things are sharp it causes light eye strain for me in the long run.

As great as more screen real estate would be on the 15", 1440x900 was perfectly fine for me. If it was resolution independent, I could accept that, but I don't like my text to be so small I have to get too close to the screen to read it.

Considering most 24" displays are 1920x1200, having that resolution on a 17" scares me, much less a 15".

Of course, who am I kidding. When I get my MacBook Pro with the 17", I'm going for 1920x1200.

My HP 17" had 1680x1050 and I found that resolution to be easier on the eyes on my attached Dell 20".

I don't mind the resolution on a 15" MBP, but it'd be nice if the 13" MBs could do 1440x900. Heck, I'd pick one up.
