My only use for iTunes is for pushing content onto my iPhone. Unfortunately, it fails at even this basic task, as there are a number of common situations (like deleting a song from iTunes) that result in iTunes and my iPhone getting out of sync, at which point iTunes refuses to sync anything at all and I have to do a full restore of my iPhone in order to get the two to talk to each other again.

Is there any better way of getting content onto an iPhone, Apple-approved or otherwise? What I'd really love is Android's mass storage device-based approach to file transfer, where I can directly control each and every individual file.
