I just bought a Magic Trackpad. It's great, but I'm trying to use BetterTouchTool to customize my gestures and I can't figure out how to enter keyboard commands to be activated with a particular gesture.

Here's an example from their website:

All of those commands except for "four finger tap" are from that Predefined Action dropdown menu. I want to create a custom command like "four finger tap", but I can't figure out how to enter symbols into the Custom Keyboard Shortcut field.

For example, the first thing that I want to do is make "four finger swipe left/right" into "Spaces left/right". I currently have Mac OS configured so that (CMD)+(left arrow/right arrow) allows me to navigate my spaces left and right. When I hit the Command button while in the Custom Keyboard Shortcut field, nothing happens, so there has to be another way to enter that symbol. Further, there has to be a way to enter the left and right arrow symbols. I am also having trouble because the field doesn't seem to accept more than one character/symbol at a time. For example I'll be in the field and type "D" and that will show up, but then I'll hit "delete" and the delete symbol will show up having replaced it... I can't figure out how to get multiple symbols in there so that a custom gesture will create the effect of hitting multiple buttons at the same time.

The next custom gestures that I want to create are for Chrome/other browsers, I want to make "three finger swipe right/left" into "next/previous tab", for which the standard keyboard shortcuts are (Control)+(Tab) and (Control)+(Shift)+(Tab) respectively. So I will also have to find a way to enter the symbols for the control, shift, and tab buttons.

Thanks for the help.
