Between the rMB and MPR

I currently have a non-retina MB the latest model with a 256gb SSD. It suits my needs but I'm on the verge of storage capacity and like the retina screen for viewing photos.

I'm not a pro user and mainly use the laptop for Photos to view and edit. GoPro studio and iMovie to edit vidoes. Then lastly just web browsing.

Would the rMB with the 1.2 512gb be a loss in performance over my i5?

If you have an i5 3210M than the M 5Y71 is an increase in performance.
