I purchased the HiCalc calculator app several months back and enjoyed a few updates to the app since my initial purchase. However, to my great surprise, guess what i saw come across the appshopper feed this morning? Well the same exact HiCalc calculator app was released as a new app with the same exact version number as the old one. The other one that I purchased was pulled from the app store. They are both identical right down to version number as far as I can tell.
Please see for yourselves:
The original HiCalc link (from appshopper):

The newly "released" HiCalc link (from appshopper):

Try and click on the Buy Now link (this won't make you buy the app but will simply take you to the appropriate itunes app store page) and you will see that the original is now gone!!! Is this another shameful case of the developer wanting to wipe the customer ratings clean as well as to prevent original purchasers from getting any additional updates? Whatever the reason, it's a shame. They even had a more than 50% sale on the app just a little under a month ago. Imagine all the people who might have bought the app then and now can no longer get any free updates on the app without rebuying the app.
I'm going to shoot off an email to the devs and see what they say about this.
