This afternoon I decided I needed a new printer.

Couldn't really be arsed to do loadsa research, so I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and go to... PC World... *shudders*

I'd been on their website so I thought I knew their selection pretty well.

Got down there to find what was in store was nothing like what was online.

Anyway, went for the HP Photosmart C4180.

Got home, plugged in a memory card, was impressed - it's my first new printer for like 5 years! (The reason I went with HP again, was that I'd had an HP forever - longevity is (sometimes) important to me!)

Then went to hook it up to my powerbook. Print utility found it, I could print - then I installed the software so I could scan.

No luck, the HP software wouldn't find the device.

Went to their site, they had NO mac drivers for download!!

Followed some troubleshooting, but to no avail.

Dug out my brothers iBook, everything worked fine.

"Great, now what good is that to me?" I thought...

Plugged it into an airport express, couldn't use it.

In frustration took it upstairs to my iMac, decided I should use the iMac as a network printing hub thingamy...

Put in the CD...

It wouldn't even load the damn installer.

Took the printer back to PC World before it closed.

Damn HP...
