This stuff - https://www.slickwraps.com/limited/alcantara-series.html

Once it contacts your device it's impossible to remove it without damaging the material. The adhesion between the adhesive and your device will be stronger than the bond of the Alcantara material to the adhesive and it will separate!

I have it on my 16" and while it's nice, I'm not going to be able to remove it without working on it and using Goo Gone to remove the leftover adhesive on my lid. I tried lifting a corner and the Alcantara layer peeled off the adhesive backing. I've realized that I can't carry this laptop into my kitchen with granite countertops and not ding it, so I'll be putting a hard shell on it, but the skin is too thick to put a shell on the lid.

Don't use Goo Gone, use light fluid, better solvent for adhesives, won't hurt finish. I have been using it for many years (50+) without any problems. Great for getting rid of labels and left over adhesive.
