Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro....?

I am looking for headphones for mainly music and sometimes movies (no recording or anything)

I originally wanted the Beats by Dre but I have done research and found that they are overpriced and not very good.

For sub $250 would you guys go with the 770s or something else?

I listen to a lot of hip-hop so i want a lot of bass.

Also, recommendations on an amp (if it is needed) to use with my MBP.

Sony MDR's are nice. Check out the new Shure headphones. DT770 will give you the bass you need, but I didn't find them too comfortable.

Audio Technica M-50 is nice too. I use it for mixing. Checkout Ultrasones.

Well I got the dt770s for $198 after tax with a 2 year guitar center warranty so if ANYTHING breaks I get a full refund (minus $20 for the warranty itself)
