How well does the 15'', 512mb VRAM Penryn MBP play BF 2142 and COD 4 on 32-bit Vista? Do I need to turn things down to medium or turn antialiasing off for it to run smoothly or should I not bother with the sacrifice? How will the games run when I connect a 20'' LCD to the MBP?

BF 2142 and Call of Duty 4 on Penryn MBPs

I think you should be able to run them pretty much at maxed. BF2 I was able to run at max, and COD4 ran well, but not maxed. However, I only have 256MB of VRAM.
Yea they run pretty well. I have everything turned on or set to normal and even 2x antialiasing on COD 4. I think 1152 res is the best although I'm set at 1280x720 and I even get 20-30 fps at the most heaviest, dipping to 15 fps when I'm in thick smoke.
What about you? What are your fps?

It does not natively support widescreen. There is a "hack" you can do by editing the shortcut with the proper resolution.

does anybody know what's a good or decent fps range? what's the lowest it can go before i start to notice the choppiness?
Hey I can average around 30-40 fps. Ceiling is 50, and in thick smoke, it even drops to 20. It's playable, only if I play at 1280 with AA off. How many fps are you getting? And what drivers are you using?
