Big big big problem

I have been getting ready to do a fresh install of OSX, as I do routienly, and I noticed that the "Recovery HD" partition on my iMac is crashing. I boot into Recovery HD, and then the computer just turns off again. I don't know how to fix this. There is nothing really on google for this problem. As of now, the current install is working (but I wanted to reformat for a fresh install)?


If this messes up, am I screwed?

Internet recovery will still work just once the Recovery HD loads, and I see the non-lenin-anymore background it turns off.
