Was just exploring the site and had a look at Quick Links. Decided to explore Who's Online and there we all are and even what we're doing—which forum we're looking at, whether we're replying to a thread etc. There was me—Viewing Who's Online! Feels a bit wierd!!

I've never used that feature before, but I think it's funny that just now that I've looked at the list, there were several viewing "who's online". I wonder if that has anything to do with this thread? :D

I'm OK about that one, as long as they can't see which websites I've got open in other tabs.

They can't, can they? :D

I was thinking the same think. That would be scary.

Your new 'tar is so postmodern floriflee! :D

we are all theoretically trackable wherever we are on the internet aren't we? I always thought that this was the case anyway.

But I bet you didn't know we could all watch what you're doing! :D

Ah, but tabbed browsing would presumably screw that up. Say I wanted to look at the "Big ladies with their big boobies"* thread, but was embarrassed to be seen doing so, I could Apple+click on that, and then quickly click on "A very sensible guide to using a Mac" as a incredibly clever and devious front, and as I had most recently clicked on the sensible thread it would be displayed.

*This thread doesn't exist, before you all start searching. <giggles at the idea of looking at "Who's Online" and seeing 900 "Searching Forums"> :p

But that doesn't mean someone can't start one. :D

And it would probably start off with this pic....

vBulletin tracks your every move and records each click, reporting all this data to MacRumors every few seconds, where it is kept in secret files. It also turns on your iSight and snaps photos once in a while, and uploads all of your cookies from other web sites and your browser history.

I see from the REFERRER_URL values that mpw was just at the web page for the Society to Promote Cruelty to Cute Furry Animals and that Lau was on the registration page for the Flat Earth Society. dynamicv's other tab is on a Bail Bonds page, while Jaffa Cake is at the Jessica Simpson Fan Club.

Need I go on?

;) ;) ;)

I just found myself. That is a handy feature if I ever get confused and wonder where I am.

Except that every time I look, I'm viewing "Who's Online." It would be nice to see something different. One of these days I'll be fast enough to catch myself somewhere else.
