So a while back I posted about jobs and such and now im in a dilemma

Here's the story, I live in Ft Collins and have turned down a company in town (was very small) that offered 47k and a Lockheed Job in a small town in TX(didnt like the area) for same wage

I currently have an offer with Schlumberger in western CO with a ~62k/year salary and a 54k/year in upstate NY with Lockheed

I had interned with Schlumberger and the work was interesting, but it was at all hrs of the day as it was the oil industry. That is what I didnt like, the set hrs that you were schelduled to work in a sense. Also didnt like how most locations were in smaller towns

Lockheed on the other hand seems to be better for my career advancement, has more rigid schedules and in larger metro areas (nice as you want to live as well)

So the issues in summary are

1) I love CO but not the oil industry AS much as the Lockheed job
2) NY is more expensive to live plus the fact that there are higher taxes and much farther from home
3) Offered more with Schlumberger but hrs arent as defined in a sense
4) I would know more of what to expect with Schlumberger as I had interned with them

Does anyone live in NY? namely the Albany area and what do you think of it?

This is a biiiiig decision on my end and I dont want to take it too lightly

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Do you have student loans or any outstanding debt? If not, the 54k should be plenty.

Either way, since you'll be spending so much of your time at work, I strongly suggest you take the position that's going to offer you the greatest level of satisfaction.
