Here, there and over there
I had a chat session with Apple Support about my iPhone 6 Plus on January 18th. They ran remote diagnostics and confirmed my battery was basically dying. They said they'd get back to me in 3 days.
Yesterday (January 22nd), I received an email from Apple Support saying:

"Phone 6 Plus batteries currently have a longer lead time because this iPhone is no longer being manufactured. Replacement batteries will be available in late March/early April."

So potentially I have a 10-12 week wait from my initial contact with Apple Support. 12 weeks is 3 MONTHS!

I ordered my iPhone 6 Plus on the day it was released. Doesn't Apple realize that the batteries for all those phones would be expiring around this time and pro-actively provision for replacement? I'm pissed.

I understand your frustration, but part of why the long time for all the batteries is that everyone is now trying to get their battery replaced thanks to the media snowballing the battery story. Even trying to get customers who legitimately need an appointment far more than some battery replacement has been a hassle. It's frustrating, yeah, but there's really nothing that can be done about it.

Welcome to the Apple battery debacle. I’m in your same boat waiting until March or April and yet they can’t release 11.3 faster to unthrottle the iOS? Of course they could if iPhone X sales didn’t stink up the joint!

Sure, let's rush another update, it's not like there would be plenty of people complaining about rushed updates being pushed on them...

Your logic is flawed, everyone will be happier when throttling can be disabled.

Nothing in what I said was in relation to that aspect of it, just the rushing aspect of it. The flaw seems to lie elsewhere.

They rush every iOS release. Not understanding your point.
