I have been thinking about upgrading my MacBook and I am really curious about the battery performance I keep hearing that the M3 models are more efficient but I am not sure how noticeable it is in real-world use

Has anyone here actually used both M2 and M3 MacBooks and seen a big difference in battery life How long do they last with normal daily tasks like browsing streaming and work apps

Would love to hear your experiences and any tips before I decide to upgrade
Thanks in advance

I can't say how the battery life of the M2 compares with the M3, but I am able to say that I've very pleased with the battery life of my M3 Pro MBP.

Between Apple silicon chips, for light workloads, there’s not really that meaningful a difference. Between my M1 Max and M4 max the wattage is almost the same in lighter loads and the screen takes up the majority of the power in the system during those light loads.

It’s really not worth an upgrade if you’re only moving from M2 to M3. Neither for battery nor performance unless you’re also going from base to max or such.
