Hi.
I bought my iPod Nano in November and since december it has a huge problem where it reboots from time to time when I enter a menu, like artists, albums, or when I enter a particular album. This can happen once a day or 6 times a day. It depends on his "mood" I guess. But It's really outrageous that I payed money for this thing and it just keeps rebooting... That's not what I payed for!
I've already tried restoring the iPod several times bt it didn't change anything.
Can ANYONE, please, help me? I'm really fed up with this kind of experience.

That happens to me and many others. As far as I know, there is no fix for it. The only chance is to wait for more software updates. Sorry.

Are you serious??
I thought it was a very rare problem because a genius guy at the apple store told me he hadn't heard of it before...
Anyway I'm very glad I'm not the only one...
Thanks for the quick answer ^^.
Aren't you guys sick of that user experience? It's really annoying... "hey let's listen to a nice song! BIIIIM it reboots"...pfff...

Geniuses at the store rarely admit that a given problem has ever been heard of before. Although in my case, my 3G Nano is ok, it is the 2nd gen one that freezes at random times, which of course, they have not heard of before.

When I had a 2G iPod nano (4 GB blue case), it would have a bad habit of suddenly "freezing" when moving between menus. Fortunately, updates to the firmware finally fixed the problem. :)

I had one freeze issue with the original 1.0 firmware for the 3G iPod nano, but the current 1.1.2 firmware seems to works very indeed.

I think yall didn't UNDERSTAND.
I didn't say he was freezing.
He just randomly RESTARTS.

Yeah they are machines and I accept they can have problems. But when my iPod retarts 5 times a day when I enter a menu, I consider there is a MAJOR problem and that it's unacceptable!!!

They didn't offer to replace it? Maybe I'm missing something (I apologize if so) but if it's under warranty, and it doesn't work correctly, I don't know why they wouldn't replace it with a refurb. Or maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones who get good service there.

replace?

Just an FYI and I don't know if it applies to iPods.

I had a macbook pro which I took in for service 2 times, the 3rd time I asked if they had a lemon policy and was told "if you have to bring it in with a hardware problem again, we'll replace it".

2 weeks later, another hardware problem and they were true to their word. I was sent a brand new machine.

I suggest asking them to repair it and see where it goes from there.

Good Luck.

I've already asked them to repair it.
I waited 3 weeks and when they gave it back to me...it didn't fix anything!
Shall I send them the iPod again? If yes, I HAVE to tell them I've already sent them the machine, in order to make some pressure, right?
