I have a problem we installed high speed internet on a machine with os 9 (yeah i know losers) its pulling a valid ip we are using ethernet, no router, but when we open Internet explorer it is looking to dial up why? how do i resolve this. Also the person was using aol dial up in the past

thanks

OS 9 is so deeply stashed away in my memory, I have a hard time remembering it, but I believe there's an Internet control panel (or something with a similar name) that specifies how you want to connect, and that might be set to dial-up.

is there some sort of preferences menu in your browser like in OS X that will allow you which type of connection to use? I switched to OS X and have had LITTLE to NO experience with OS 9, but who knows... check that...
