I hope someone can help. I upgraded to Big Sur a couple of days ago on my 27 inch desktop and trying to get started with a few tasks today, but running into various connectivity problems, as follows:

1) Can't connect to my website with Filezilla: could not connect to server
2) Tried both Navicat and MySQL Workbench to connect to the MySQL database on my website, getting Unknown MySQL Server
3) A XOJO program I have also refuses to connect to the same database
4) My old XOJO 2017 gives You do not have permission to open the app ..., though my XOJO 2020 is fine
5) Firefox wouldn't open anything at all: Hmmm, we're having trouble etc. Tried all the solutions found on the internet but nothing works
6) Homebrew gives an initial Downloading message, then Warning: Transient problem and then times out

Regarding 1 and 2 above, my Linux laptop is fine with them, as is Firefox.

Help! Please!!

Please ignore this! I don't know what I did but a switch off and restart has fixed all the above problems except number 4, but I can live with that.

Sorry to have troubled you.
