guys so if you have Big sur and spot light doesnt work, open terminal and type this
sudo mdutil -E / disable it first and than sudo mdutil -i on /
this will fix spotlight search, it just works on mine.... all program and searches are coming back right now and its working.... my index was OFF after big sur install and yours might be also....
