I have a 1TB Samsung T5 SSD that I use half and half for my Time Machine backup disk and Windows 10 BootCamp installation, and plugging it into my MacBook Pro 16 is now causing the entire machine to stop responding, spinning beach ball style. All of the ports suffer with the same issue.
Other external storage devices such as thumb drives aren't causing an issue.
If I boot up and login to the system with the drive attached it gets past the login and doesn't load anything until I remove the drive.
I've reset the NVRAM and SMC and the problem continues.
I wondered if anyone has experienced this and found a fix?
Edit* I can see all of the files on the Time Machine partition with no issues with it connected to my iPad Pro. I'd assume if the drive was corrupted or the physical connection was problematic, it wouldn't work.
