Big Sur problem with USB-C PD monitor

After upgrading to Big Sur, my external monitor with PD connected by USB-C only shows the image when I plug (or unplug !) the Macbook Pro charger.

Once it starts working, I can unplug the MBP charger and both the image and PD keeps working... but less than ideal, and this did not happen with Catalina.

Any ideas?
