Contract is ending mid August. I'm a 21 year old coege student on my parents' plan. The plan is to sign my own contract when the new iPhone comes out. I'm on AT&T now, and have no problems with service in my area of Tallahassee. We currently have 4g service here on Verizon.

My question is, regarding my situation, which would you advise signing with. Im not a big talker, really only spend. A max of two minutes per conversation. I am however, a data whore. I'll probably upgrade to the 2012 phone as well. Are there student discounts at either?

Thanks.

It seems as though you're pretty happy with AT&T right now, so why switch? Also, are you currently grandfathered into the unlimited data plan? Obviously if you switched to Verizon, you won't get unlimited data. So I guess that is another factor. But if your service is already good, I don't see a reason to switch.

I am grandfathered into unlimited. But if I sign a new contract, I won't be. I'm currently under my Fathers plan, and will be signing my own. If the 2012 iPhone is 4G cellular, do you think AT&T will have 4G coverage there? Also. Which has the faster 4G? I'm always unsure about that.

I think you can switch your line to your name, and lose all ties from your parents' plan without losing your unlimited? (Sort of like transferring a line over).

And I would stick with AT&T if you're a huge data-user. Verizon starts their data plans at 2gb for $30. When AT&T is 2gb for $25.

I'm pretty sure if you transfer your line to a new account your features will stay as is so you should be able to keep unlimited.

stay on AT&T if you are happy with them, you are grandfathered into unlimited data, you will not lose it if you upgrade.

Verizon is the one that makes you drop to current features if you move accts

if you currently have good service with your provider i would stay with them. the next iPhone won't be 4g

since your voice service is good, seems like a no-brainer to stay with att. 3G data is much faster and no 4G iPhone in sight yet.

it's called a transfer of responsibility on AT&T and you WILL be able to keep your unlimited data!

as a side note... GO GATORS! :p

Looks like your logic is undeniable. That's cool, I didn't know I would be able to keep unlimited. Thanks guys
