I have a 2011 13' MBP and i was wondering if its possible to get a 2TB hard drive. Or whats the biggest one you can buy

1TB 5400rpm or 750GB 7200rpm is the largest.

If you exchange your DVD player for an optibay you could fit 2x 1TB inside the MBP.

I believe you can chuck any 1TB drive in the primary bay, but in the optical at least you're currently limited to the Spinpoint M8 by Samsung at that size.

Good point. WD also released a 9mm 1TB drive now so that should work too.

I can't wait for it to come out here, I've been trying to get a Samsung M8 here for weeks but nobody in Australia will sell me one, except MacFixit which are claiming it costs ~$220US and selling it for about $170 USD when newegg have it for $89.

Be interesting to see how it compares to the Samsung performance wise.

I guess there won't be much difference between them.

I hope the first 1TB 7200rpm will arrive soon. I guess we'll see it within 3 months.

Even more interesting for me is the update on the Seagate XT. Will it be 750GB or 1TB? I'm very curious.
