Thank you for the first link. I don't do facebook, ever, for any reason.
I'm a big fan of Elon, although he has many detractors, but who doesn't when you're breaking all the norms and changing the world? He does much more than he talks and he talks alot, lol, But I have mad respect for doers. His battery manufacturing plant in Nevada now manufactures more lithium batteries than the whole world combined, and the CHinese plant which is on a scale we haven't yet dreamed of isn't even online yet. He just purchased Maxwell Battery the only Corp. to have a patent on dry cell lithium battery technology and super capacitors, meaning imagine how fast a Tesla could go using a super capacitor? Better yet, in a more practical and large scale sense, they will add these to their charging stations and you will soon be able to charge your Tesla to ½ in 10 mins. That's HUGE! There are so many uses for suoer capacitors in commmercial transportaion also and dry cells will eliminate a great deal of leakage and human danger as well as environmental harm.
His fight against AI being a loose cannon and creating the coalition, I reallly hope has a positive and prohibitive effect on Google, which he fears more than anything or anyone on eartth for good reason. They ignore laws and do what they want in your face, along with facebook and people still use them. They've been buying up telecom companies in eastern Europe. You can't make the telephones and own the telephone comapnies, guys. His research into the human brain and helping people overcome motor-skill issues is wonderful, and I can't off the top of my head remember what particular disease he is working on.
His safety record and cost effeciency on space launches are unsurpassed by anyone in the history of space flight, and the idea of creating a lower satellite orbit belt with 12,000 communication satellites to create more bandwidth will move our technology and the speed of communication up drastically. Many will say, Yea, he's going to mars to bring his own family first. If you built it, wouldn't you??? As long as he comes back Idc. That's just common sense, so why are ya'll cryin' about it? We haven't even broached his underground transit engineering yet.
There is a very respected reverse engineering company in detroit who obviously reverse engineers cars and does engineering anaysis on them. They compared the Tesla's body, powertrain, battery and especially their motor against other electric car manufactures and said, if they had any experience in car manufacturing meaning, for example their wheel well is a 7 piece affair, comapred to every other car's one piece, they would have literally ran away with the automotive world single handedly, and no one would have ever caught back up. They said if they removed ½ of the automation and all of the people, they'd still run away. So I have big hopes for the new plant in China, because it's all about efficiency, and they're buidling on a scale for that to happen it seems.
Let's just hope that the power and respomsibility he creates doesn't to go to his head and he loses focus on the good he's doing for humaity, right now. That's my only conecern, because his contemporaries aren't this magnanimous or pure of intention, if you will. Power corrupts and I can't think of many who have accululated such power that didn't beome corrupted by it. Certainly not the Rockefellers. Mr. Bill Gates who I have a great deal of respect for isn't, but Elon's bound to zoom right on by him, and Warren Buffet is great also right off hand.
I am an unsaitiably curious person. I have studied a very wide range of interests my whole life, and turned them into businesses. 36 years of college, lol. Someone said, that could be 7 doctorates. I said yea, in being a dummy. The things I don't know fill libraries, honestly. Yet I don't have one degree, because I never put any value in a label. Labels are just fences in your mind that keep you from seeing possibility. I am what I choose to be, when I choose to be it. I have the industrious, self starter, Briggs Meyers ENFP personality. I've owned my own businesses my whole life, and only had 4 bosses and those were only for a short transition to being my own boss. There is great a deal of satisfaction in creating something out of nothing and watching it grow. I was nowhere near anything like Elon, but we do what we can. I managed the electronics test lab for NTS one of two large labs that do qualification and faillure analysis for the military, NASA, JPL the aircraft and telecom ind. We were the lab that discovered the O ring in the '86 shuttle disaster and why. Morton Thiacol manufactured them, and all mil spec parts are to be physically supported and stored at 70 degrees F +/- 2 and 50% +/- 2 humidity. We found them thrown in a pile in a shed with no doors on it, subject to the weather. They had dry rotted. I designed and built all the cargo handling test equipment for every Boeing 7 Series aircraft flying today for TRW who bought out Lucas Aerospace, through my engineering co. I was on the original USB design committee, What p.o..s

. We met every Wed outside of San Jose at the Embassy Suites Hotel. It ran at whopping 10 MBs. We laughed and asked, why again do you want to build this, when IEEE 1394 (Firewire 400) is 400 MBs, lol? So I wrote the test specs and my partner grabbed the credits as usual, and that was his last partnership with me. We hooked it to our printer and it slowed it down

. I'm retired now, so all I have is time and memories and a few bucks. Well the ducketts are ok come to think about it. I'm just not giving any more of it to Apple. There are other things I'm very proud to be part of that made a difference, but this is already too long. In some very minuscule way, I feel as if I get to relate to Elon just a teeny tiny bit, and that gives me hope, just to know you made a difference.
