I haven't seen anyone post regarding this. But wouldn't it be nice if when adding a date to a contacts birthday field, that it would add an event to your calendar so you can get a reminder? Or at the very least, provide a popup yes/no. Considering you have to do everything twice, this would be VERY helpful.

If you're using iCal, you can enable birthday calendars in the preferences.

It creates a calendar in iCal that contains all the birthdays in your address book. From iTunes, you can select that this calendar be synced with your phone. The birthday will show up as an all day event.

So, it creates a separate calendar of just the Birthdays from my contact list? Can I then adopt that as my main calendar so I can have birthdays and appts all in one? I'd rather not have to choose one or the other.

I don't think it lets you alter the Birthdays calendar... But I could be wrong.

And it will remind you at 12:00 a.m. the day of the birthday.

Heh heh yeah it took me a couple of wake ups at midnight before I figured you need to give a birthday a set time (not an all day event) before you added an alarm reminder for one day before the event.
