One of my favorite things when I used to use pc was birthdays from my contacts in Outlook would show up on the calender. It was a great reminder for me. Is there any way to make peoples birthdays show up from macs contacts as a reminder. Like a pop-up or a widget or anything? I always need to be reminded.

Under Panther I grabbed BirthdayCal which imported them all very nicely!

Am still playing with all the changes in Tiger... but do have Birthdays as a separate Calendar. If only now we could publish multiple calendars on .Mac securely (overlapping each other) like we see them in iCal!

When I did check the preference in iCal (Tiger) though it did make a new Birthday calendar ( so I had to manually delete the BirthdayCal (plugin) that I had under Panther.
