Birthdays in Calenders

Not to sure where this one goes but...

If i was to put birthdays against certain contacts is there then a way to get those to show up on Birthdays for Calenders?

Or even... how do i get my Birthdays Calender back?

You didn't mention which OS version you are using, but on ML, (10.8.2) when I put birthdays on my contacts, it does show up in the birthdays calendar. There is the option in calendar->preferences->general to "Show Birthdays calendar"
