Bit the Bullet on this 8GB DDR3 RAM - Good deal?

Just wondering if you guys know if I did the right thing? I did do my home work prior to biting the bullet


Type: 1066MHz DDR3 (PC3-8500) -SO-DIMM


Size: 8GB (each purchase is 8GB , 2 sticks of 4GB)

I have a June 2009 17" MacBook Pro.

This price is exactly 3 times cheaper than what it costs here in South Africa for the same memory. Damn we get ripped off here...

Just curious, did you check that OWC doesn't ship to your country? They ship to Australia, and despite it being halfway around the world, shipping was only $4-5 using the cheapest option.

OWC is Other World Computing, great place to buy mac upgrades. I checked, they ship to Finland for about $15, and their own brand 8GB RAM is about $120 with lifetime warranty. I wasn't interested in your RAM sorry Just wanted to let you know that just in case you wanted to upgrade something again in the near future
