BitDefender's "Safe Files" -- the part that is supposed to keep you from getting ransomware (now version 8.3.0.8) drops, on its own (the bug), applications from the "Application Access" list. Then, the next time that application runs, you get a denied error!
I add the file back to the list, but it gets dropped again.
I've tried totally uninstalling and reinstalling BD, but, nope, problem persists.
This is been a bug I've reported to BD "support" over and over and over, but the suggestions offered aren't solving the problem. I think they're just reading a simple support script with no apparent problem report escalation to more senior techs.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or figured out how to solve it so the Safe Files "Application Access" list of applications stays populated?
FWIW, in the latest version, BD is now blocking applications in the "Application Access" list whether or not the "Safe Files" is enabled. That's a new, worse, bug.
I need to find a better solution than BitDefender.
Thanks in advance,
