BiteSMS bad for LimeJB

Couldn't wait any longer, so I JB, installed Bite, and all it does is open a screen with a toolbar on the top, then quits. I assume this isn't typical, so just wanted people to know the issue. I've reinstalled it a few times, to no avail.

Not necessarily a LimeRa1n issue, more that BiteSMS doesn't support 4.1 yet as there was no JB for it?

Download the Beta 5 version of biteSMS from their beta repo.

The repo is: http://www.bitesms.com/cydia/beta5.0

add that in your sources in cydia and it should work fine

The second post is true, I forgot to mention that I'm on 4.1 so Bite just may not be compatible. I'm using 4.1 on iPhone 4 32 GB Black with Silver steel around the side and an apple logo on the back. Oh and there's a camera on the back too!

I'm having no such issue with my ip4 on 4.1 with limera1n beta 4...

Version 5, Beta Release 10 available now. If no new problems reported it will go to bigboss (assuming bigboss is up) within 24 hours.

If you're missing it, install the beta.

I installed the beta and it works flawlessly. I didn't even try to install the last version.

People need to stop blaming limera1n for everything. It's mostly just iOS 4.1 that's the issue. BiteSMS just needs to be updated, but yes the BETA for me works great.

Agreed. I was really hoping for greenpoison but in the end it doesn't matter which is which. Limera1n is better for the community because it doesn't focus ONLY on a4 devices. Granted, I have an ip4, so either way it doesnt matter.

4.1 IS causing the issue for most people. obviously, updating the OS will cause problems with the jailbreak but people are so pulled by the hype that they believe things that make no sense.

I really feel the need to echo this statement. People are so blind to blame everything on limera1n. It's just an exploit to run custom code. Your apps crashing/not working are most likely because of iOS 4.1. Things get renamed. Libraries changed. App stop working. Simple.

Take chat bubbles for example, for god knows what reason, Apple decides to rename them from "Balloon_1@2x.png" to "Balloon_1@2x~iphone.png"...

Please stop using limera1n as a scapegoat for all your problems. Sheesh.
