BiteSMS lag

Maybe this has been posted already, but when I use bitesms, it takes a long time to open. Than once I select a friend to text, it takes a long time for that text window to come up as well. Is this normal? I already reinstalled and it did not fix anything.

i had the same problem and it kept crashing version 6.1, i havent installed the beta version yet but i've been hearing that it solves some of those issues the repo is http://cydia.bitesms.com/
