I really love this program but why oh why does it work so slowly? There are so many good features but I'm thinking about removing it because my phone performance really takes a hit.

I only have sbssettings and lockinfo installed. Is anyone else noticing these performance issues?

I use it constantly and its as fast or faster than the native SMS app for me. What phone/OS are you using?

What phone do you have? When I had the 2G, it wasn't all that bad. The only lag I noticed was when I received an SMS, the animation to some time.

iPhone 4 running 4.0.1. It's especially slow when replying from the lookscreen and the sending bar moves very slowly.

All I've noticed is a delay between sending a quick reply and the stupid whoosh sound it makes (which I really should disable). The QR popup disappears immediately.

Other than that, no issues and I adore it! Can't wait for the custom SMS tones to be fully implemented.

i don't have lag issues but i loved it up until a few days ago. now when i get a pop up text and i click show, i only see like the top quarter of the letters so it is unreadable. i then have to open the app to read the text message. i'm drifting towards hate. anyone know how i can fix this?

Thats weird cause I have it on my 4 and I'm not noticing any lag or sense of slowness. Do you have SBSettings installed? If so (or if not, I would suggest getting it), check your processes and see how many are running.

Have you tried reinstalling? Or I wonder if a theme or some other app might be interfering with it...

I have sbssettings installed and then lockinfo. Nothing else on the phone from cydia (and no themes). The app is fine when I'm working in the app itself but the only reason I use it is for quickreply and for that it is terribly slow and laggy.

I'm running the latest beta right now.

Love this app. Pretty much the only reason why I JB. No lag for me. I actually turned on the close message button after sending a reply so I don't even see the bar. Couldn't be happier.

It was slow on the previous version as well. Oh well I'll probably just delete it. I really just want the lockscreen info.

I haven't seen any lag or slowness with BiteSMS, if all you want is quick reply, take a look at QuickReplySMS and Tlert, those may work better for you.

I can't believe I'm the only one seeing lag with this program. It mainly occurs when you're responding to a text via quick reply and if another text comes in it really grinds to a halt. It's not unusable but annoying.

I tried it on a replacement iPhone 4 and it was pretty similar so it has to be program related.

You should try to uninstall/restall. I get a ton of incoming messages when I'm replying to someone else and it never gets hung up. I have version 4.93.

Just to add to the list, I am running the 5.0 beta on my iPhone4 and have used biteSMS since I first jb my 3G. I've never seen a lag. Frankly, the first thing I'd look at is Lockinfo as the culprit.
