Every-time I try to open up BitPim, I get this error:

BitPim Error
An unexpected error has occurred during execution of the main script

PyAssertionError: C++ assertion "status == noErr" failed at ../src/mac/carbon/font.cpp(378) in MacFindFont(): couldn't modify ATSU style

I've found a thread on the internet containing part of the error, but for another program and the solution was to make sure Courier New was installed, but Courier New is installed on my Mac running OS X 10.4.9 so I'm not sure if it could be another font or a different problem.

I think i ran into a similar problem with bitpim. Try closing all other application and running it.

I even restarted my mac (something I rarely do), and tried it. Nothing.

The only reason I'm really hyped on opening bitpim is because I ran into a lead member of a band I like in St. Marks and I was able to get a picture of him and my friend, but the stupid Verizon phone wont let me get the picture off the phone without paying 25 cents to get it off or paying for their app.

have you tried opening it and then connecting the phone and vice versa?
