Now I swear, uTorrent had this before but apparently not...maybe I'm going mad?

Simply put I use Bittorrent from time to time (don't look at me like that, bit torrent's legal, content theft isn't the - two are not always the same) and I hate having my machine left up and running when it doesn't need to be.

Can anyone recommend a client that lets me auto sleep/auto shutdown the Mac when the downloads are complete, or seeding reaches a certain %?

Transmission can be set to run an Applescript when downloads are finished. You could just have that script sleep the machine for you.

Certainly an answer. I may well look into that if nothing more...straight forward. turns up. I can't believe there's not a Mac client with a simple drop box option :-/

uTorrent on my windows machine definitly had this... I dont see it atm on my mac version.

Yeah, it's definitely not in the Mac version. The uTorrent forums have been asking for it for...well, some time now. But for some reason it just never works it's way in.

thanks the scripts work but when added in transmission to use the script after downloads complete it doesnt work
i guess transmission doesnt work with apple scripts

I believe it does. The article you linked is not talking about Applescripts.

Save your Applescript then go to this section of Transmission prefs and check the box and point to your script.
