Trying to download a relatively large set of files but something odd keeps happening in the process. I get files and folders that are incomplete, or sometimes it refuses to download at all. Here's the situation:

Client put several dozen video files on SharePoint and gave me access. Tried a single click bulk download and only got one incomplete folder of dozens in the directory (I did not select this folder only). Attempted this on Safari and Chrome. Similar results. Next I tried downloading individual folders instead of bulk and received incomplete downloads with some files either corrupted or not fully downloaded. It seemed at the time it might haver to do with the compressing and decompressing of files since a single .mov file could be downloaded without trouble. But downloading 100 or more files individually is a bit cumbersome.

Client moved files to Google Drive. Nothing worked at all except on Chrome and with Chrome it has downloaded 20 .zip files that are each about 2.15 GB. Problem is, these include many partially downloaded files and the file structure is a mess.

Makes me think of disk formatting but my MacBook is fairly new with APFS and the source format is from two different platforms. I just don't get it.

My system: MacBook Pro (Nov 2024) with M4 chips, OS 15.6.1. Using Safari 18.6 and Chrome 143.0.7499.110. Network is relatively fast, using Fiber at 80-90 Mbps. Not sure if network hiccups could be an issue but I've not noticed any other issues.

Did client download their own files from Sharepoint or Google Drive after to verify their upload was not corrupted?

I can't say what the client verified, but in Google Drive I can see the folder structure, and the files seem ok. What happens when I download them is they get zipped into small files, some of which either get split between different zipped ones or just not completely downloaded.
