Bizarre Powerpoint Slideshow Behavior

I have Office 2008 for the Mac. I created a presentation in Powerpoint. When I view the presentation in Slideshow, there are some bizarre things going on. The font size grows until some of the words actually leave the page. I have never seen anything like this before.

Any ideas what is causing this and what a potential remedy might be? Thanks!
