Okay, as usual, not sure if I'm posting in the correct topic.
Anyway, I had this huge problem with 10.10 since a little after I installed it on my iMac (see specs below). The first time it happened (not sure when), I turned on my Mac, after a while, I tried using it, but it was stuck on the beach ball. Nothing worked, except the mouse. I tried restarting Finder, but I couldn't because the top menu bar nor the keyboard didn't work. Naturally, I forced shut down my computer. After restarting, same problem. I tried quickly closing all apps before they start destroying my computer, but it was useless. Many times I tried restarting, nothing works. So I finally decided to restore from a time machine backup prior to the events. It took an unacceptable 10 hours, but it worked.
Today, the same problem happened, except that the way it started was unusual. I was just playing a game on Parallels and suddenly, the keyboard became unresponsive and the beach ball appeared. I figured it was Parallels messing up, but I went to close it and the system just lagged on it's own. Force shut down, restart, nothing works. I decided to reinstall the system (not from scratch), it took less time, but I restarted the system aaaaand... still stuck. I can switch windows with my mouse, the tabs on chrome are "loading" infinitely, and nothing works. So, I'm not going to restore from a backup right now because of how long it takes. Has anyone been experiencing the problem, have you got any better solution?
With that, Yosemite really cut off my nerves (especially with all the other minor bugs), so I am thinking of going back to Mavericks, since it has less problems and not such an ugly design. Can someone provide me tips on how to do that?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Oops, forgot to add specs.
iMac Late 2009 21.5"
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz or something like that
ATI Radeon (don't remember the model)
