Black background on photos over video in FCP X

Hi,

I often add still photos to my video timeline but due to aspect ratio the photo does not cover the whole frame
and the video can be seen behind the still photo.

How do I create a black background so vertical photos do not show the underlying video clip?

I don't want to chop up the video clip so it doesn't show in the background.
