My sister just called me with a problem. She was trying to take a screenshot, and instead hit "shift control f4" (or so she thinks). Now around whatever she selects is a black outline. It happens around icons, application windows, and text fields.

I couldnt find this command on apple's support page, and hitting the same command wouldn't fix it.

I'm at work right now, but I can upload pictures when I get home if needed.....she has a 2 month old MBP if it matters.
 
I think your sister may have possibly hit the shortcut command for voice over. Tell her to go to system preferences and then universal access and ask her to look see if voice over is turned on, if it is, then she must turn it off to get rid of the black boxes.
 
that was it, its all fixed now.
